We’ve always been a fan of big band music, and Denver-MHO really know how to deliver that great big band sound. When this song was edited for gymnastics, we chose the name “The Mile High Jump” because that’s what it exemplifies on many levels, but the song was actually written and recorded under the title “Jesus Loogie Boogie” (this should help all you Denver-MHO fans find it if you’re looking for the full length version). ![]()
As a floor music song, “The Mile High Jump” appeals to gymnasts everywhere, and it’s easily adaptable to any competitive level. As far as we know, the highest level gymnast to use this song for her routine has been an SEC Top 10 college gymnast. (But hey, did we hear somebody say the Olympics? Who knows … maybe one day!). *LOL* Anyway, if you’re looking for music that’s fast and bouncy, we definitely recommend “The Mile High Jump”. You can listen to our 1:24 demo by clicking here. Also … fyi … a shorter version is available, too: it’s 1:16 in length.
P.S. about Denver & the Mile High Orchestra: if you think you’ve seen these guys before, you probably have (and if you haven’t, you should)! In December of 2007, they were a top 3 finalist on Fox TV’s The Next Great American Band show. They’ve also appeared on several of the Christian broadcast channels and play regularly at churches and for various other events, both nationally and internationally. Their website is DenverMHO.com.
